Meet Our Contributors

Joey Best –  He is our balanced mind and voice of reason.  Joey is a thoughtful, Bible saturated thinker that brings a great perspective to the big issues of today.  He is married to his awesome wife, Faith.  He is currently getting his MDiv in Biblical Counseling at Southern Seminary.

Josh Howerton –  He is the ‘blog pastor.’  Josh currently pastors The Bridge of Spring Hill, Tennessee.  He brings a great pastoral perspective to contribute to the conversation.  No one makes you think more seriously and ask more questions than Josh. He got his bachelors from Union University in Biblical Studies and is working on a degree from Southern in Missions, Evangelism, and Church Growth.  He has a wonderful wife Jana!

JohnMichael Larue –  He is one of our culture guys. John-Michael loves applying God’s Word to all areas of life including sports, politics, and ethics. He is a graduate of Palm Beach Atlantic University with his Bachelors in Biblical Studies and Political Science (2006). He is currently finishing an MDiv in Biblical and Theological Studies from Southern Seminary with the intent of pursuing a PhD in Biblical Spirituality. He is also currently directing the college ministry at Bethlehem Baptist Church in Louisville, KY.

Alex S. Leung –  He is our resident Chinese Canadian Calvinist, hailing from hockey nation–Toronto, Ontario.  Alex is a self-professed Moleskine aficionado, a calfskin/goatskin Bible fanatic, and a charismatic with a seatbelt who has a passionate love for the local church.  He is pursuing an M.Div in Christian Ministry at Southern Seminary and hoping to soon pastor in a North American urban center.

Luke Hinton –  He loves the grace of God and seeks to understand his entire life underneath the banner of his grace. Luke graduated from Mid-Continent University in 2006 with a Bachelor of Science in Biblical Studies (that’s right, a BS in BS). Currently, he is working on a MDiv in Biblical and Theological Studies. When he graduates, God willing, he will be a pastor overseas, in Asia or Europe. He is engaged and set to get married on December 12, 2009. Soli Deo Gloria.

Benjamin J. Montoya –  He is the editor of Evangelical Village.  He is our topics ‘specialist.’  Many times when there is an issue that needs covered or a book that needs reviewed, Ben will be our guy.  He is very fair in his analysis and always points to Scripture.  He has a B. A. in Biblical and Theological Studies from Boyce College in Louisville, KY.  He is currently working towards an Advanced Master of Divinity in Theology at Southern Seminary.

Brett McDonald –  He and his wife Helen live in Buda, Texas where Brett is a worship leader and youth pastor. He is a graduate of Texas A&M University (2005) and an “almost” graduate of the Southern Seminary. Brett and Helen are expecting their first child in April of 2009.

Brian Moats –  He is our man on culture, the arts, music, etc…  Brian brings a unique, biblical perspective on this world we live in.  He is currently finishing his degree at Boyce College.

Lucas Knisely– He is our aspiring philosopher. He enjoys writing and reading things that defend the faith from philosophical/apologetical point of view. Lucas has been married since 2007 and aims to have children after he and his wife finish school at Boyce College. Some of his favorite authors who defend the faith philosophically are Francis Schaeffer, James W. Sire, Tim Keller, and C.S. Lewis.

Rosalynn Robb – She has a passion for the local church, specifically in the areas of discipleship. Her desire is to serve and minister to women and to see them fulfill the commandment to mentor other women. She believes we best minister to others out of the overflow of our relationship with Christ. It is her desire to share the Scriptures and the truths God has shown in her own life practically so that it encourages and challenges her brothers and sisters in the Lord.  She is studying at Boyce College to become a Biblical Counselor.

    Are any of you guys zealous, young-earth creationists? I’m not looking for an arguement or a fight. Just looking for fellowship with YECists outside of my usual, Reformed evangelical circles.
